Viral Space Center Houston Event Breaks Attendance Records

Brand Results: Record attendance of 14,000+, assisted in 22 million impressions, and 3 million unique reach.

Paid Media Results: ~$8 per conversion across Facebook and Instagram ($60 value).

In 2019 Space Center Houston set themselves upon a historic campaign. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing, our marketing team was tasked with creating a one-of-a-kind experience. As social media manager I created an experience on Facebook and Instagram that was geared for both ticket sales and brand recognition.

This first started with the creation of our branded hashtag “#ApolloHOU.” This hashtag was to be used on all digital, traditional, and television marketing. It was a way to encourage our users to talk about the event organically in the months leading up to our celebration. Additionally, this hashtag was used as part of a lead up video series, that interviewed guests and staff on the important of the moon landing.

Leading further into the celebration itself, I was able to partner with artists WALK THE MOON and Phillip Phillips to create a promotional video that was the lead asset in driving ticket sales. Switching gears, I brought 12-hour live social media coverage during the event, which was a large part of our 22 million impressions over the celebration. This event not only broke Space Center Houston attendance records, but equipped us for years to come.
